News from NMAMIT | Three-Day FDP on ‘She Leads: Developing Leadership Competencies for Women Academicians’

The Dept. of Information Science & Engineering, NMAMIT in association with the IEEE Bangalore Section, Women in Engineering (WIE) Mangalore Subsection, Staff Development Centre, Nitte University and Canara Bank, Nitte branch organised a three-day Faculty Development Program (FDP) on 'She Leads: Developing Leadership Competencies for Women Academicians' from 10th to 12th November 2025 at NMAM Institute of Technology, Nitte.

Inaugurator Dr. Rahee Walambe, Assoc. Professor, Symbiosis Institute of Technology, Pune in her inaugural address, emphasized the importance of leadership in academia and encouraged women faculty to embrace innovation and mentorship. Guest of Honour Dr. Venugopala PS, Chair Elect, IEEE Mangalore Subsection, appreciated the initiative and highlighted the role of IEEE in fostering collaboration and leadership.

The function was presided over by Dr. Niranjan N Chiplunkar, Principal, NMAMIT. Dr. Ashwini B, HoD, ISE welcomed the gathering and highlighted the objectives of the FDP. Prof. (Dr) Manjula Gururaj Rao, ISE introduced the Chief Guest, while Dr. Rashmi Naveen, Asst. Professor, ISE, introduced the Guest of Honour. Dr. Chinmai Shetty, Asst. Professor, ISE, delivered the formal vote of thanks. Dr. Deepa, Asst. Professor, ISE was the master of the ceremony. Nearly 60 participants registered for the FDP.
