Nitte Institute of Communication (NICO) successfully organized a session under its Masterclass Series - 2026 on “OTT: The Future of the Entertainment Industry” on 2nd February 2026. The session featured Mr. Sanal Nair, Sr. Content Manager, ZEE5 (Kannada), who has extensive experience across television, OTT platforms and film production. The welcome address was delivered by Ms. Ridha and Ms. Miriam Abigail Moras introduced the speaker.
Mr. Sanal Nair shared valuable insights into the evolving OTT landscape, content strategies, regional storytelling and audience-driven narratives. He spoke about his experience at ZEE5, including the successful launch of Kannada original series such as Ayyana Mane, Shodha and Maarigallu. The session was highly engaging and informative, offering students practical perspectives on content creation and industry trends.
The interactive Q&A session, moderated by Ms. Disha, saw enthusiastic participation from students, with Mr. Nair addressing queries related to career pathways, content development and the future of digital entertainment. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Kushi.
