Department of Child Health Nursing, NUINS has organized the awareness programme on “Child Abuse Prevention” on 26th November 2016 at Govt. School, Pavoor. Ms.Samseena D.M, Assistant lecturer and Seven III year B.Sc Nursing students under the guidance of Sujatha R, HOD Department of Child Health Nursing organized the programme.
The awareness programme was held from 10.00am to 12 pm at the school hall. 57 children from 9th and 10th standard along with 3 teachers and 2 non- teaching staff s benefited from the programme.
Programme consisted of Health Talk in Kannada about Types, Side Effects and prevention of child Abuse. The school authorities have mentioned that the health talk was very useful for the students. They also mentioned that the topic which is taught with the help of audio-visual aids was the highlight in our health talk. They would like to have such awareness programme held hereafter, as it serves for their safety. They suggested that awareness on child abuse needs to be given to parents and teachers also.
