The Department of Community Medicine organized a Public Awareness Program, "World Diabetes Day 2016" on 18-11-2016 at Government higher primary School Hejamadi.
On the occasion of world diabetes day, a community level screening camp was organised at Hejamadikodi RHC on 18-11-2016. The camp was held at government primary school. The camp was inaugurated by Mrs Vishalakshi U Puthran, President, Hejamadi gram panchayat. A total of 65 people were screened for both diabetes and hypertension. Also behaviour change communication was imparted to the people. Patients who had raised reading levels were referred to Hejamadikodi RHC for further evaluation and management. Dr Sanjeev, Dr Rahul, Mr Santosh, faculty, Dr Shameena, Dr Sharon, Dr Prince, Dr Kavya, postgraduate students and Miss Athmika, intern, Department of Community Medicine, KSHEMA, Mr Shashikant Kotian, President, Gandhinagara Yuvaka Vrunda, Hejamadikodi and Mrs Kusuma, Headmistress, government primary school were involved in organising the programme.
