Continuing Medical Education on Tumor markers “A cutting edge paradigm in oncotherapeutics” - KSHEMA

Department of Biochemistry and Oncology jointly organized Continuing Medical Education on Tumor markers “A cutting edge paradigm in oncotherapeutics” on 11th February 2017 at Seminar hall, Justice K. S. Hegde Charitable Hospital Deralakatte.

The gathering was warmly welcomed by Dr. Sukanya Shetty, the organising secretary of the CME. CME was inaugurated by Dr. Iddya Karunasagar, Senior Director (International Relations), NITTE University.

Dr. Satheesh Kumar Bhandary, Dean, KSHEMA, DR. P S Prakash, Vice Dean, KSHEMA, Dr. A.M Mirajkar, Vice Dean, KSHEMA, Dr. Shivakumar Hiremath and Dr. Jayaprakash Shetty, Registrar of KSHEMA graced the occasion by lighting the lamp.

180 delegates from different fields of sciences like Medical, Dental, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Nursing, Biotechnology and science faculty from all over Karnataka attended the CME.

The opening talk of the CME was delivered by our own student, a eminent Surgical Oncologist Dr.Shravan Shetty (M.B.B.S, M.S, M.Ch Surgical Oncology, Consultant, Somaiya Ayurvihar Asian Cancer Institute, Mumbai,

Dr. Latha Kini (M.B.B.S,M.D,Pathology), Lead Clinical Pathologist, Core Diagnostics, Gurgaon, NewDelhi, enlightened the delegates with her talk on “Soft tissue tumors: molecular diagnostics perspective”

Dr. Roopesh N, (M.B.B.S, M.S OBG, Fellowship in Gynaecologic Oncology), Consultant Gynaecologic Oncologist in CyteCare Cancer Hospital, Bangalore explained the importance of tumor markers in gynaecologic oncology.

A lecture on oncology perspective from diagnostic to theranostics was delivered by Mr. Ramesh, (Deputy General Manager, Oncoquest Laboratories Ltd., Bangalore) the resource persons of the CME.

Dr. Vijith Shetty proposed the vote of thanks. The CME was compered by Dr Disha Bhandary.
