NGSM Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, in association with the Staff Development Centre, Nitte University, organized a one-day workshop on “Basics of Python Programming for Pharmaceutical Sciences” for the teaching staff of NGSMIPS on 26th June 2026 to familiarize them with the fundamentals of Python programming, as the subject has been incorporated into the BPharm curriculum in accordance with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
The program was facilitated by Dr. Abhishek S Rao, Assoc. Professor, ISE, Chief R&D Coordinator, Canara Engineering College, Mangaluru. During the hands-on sessions, participants gained practical experience in Python programming using the Anaconda platform and Jupyter Notebook, enabling them to understand the basic concepts and applications of Python in pharmaceutical sciences.
The workshop provided hands-on experience in managing, analyzing and visualizing structured datasets using Python libraries such as NumPy, Pandas and Matplotlib. It helped participants develop data-driven analytical skills for interpreting pharmaceutical and healthcare data in research and academic activities.
