Campus to Corporate Workshop - NEI

The transition is an on-going process in everyone’s life that takes place at different stages. The transition from campus to career needs more attention as it involves a lot of planning. Planning for transition should take account of the personal goals and ambitions of the young person. The objective of the planning must ensure that the person possesses the necessary skills to enable the person to cope up with the corporate culture and climate. As the transition period is expected to be stressful and difficult, proper planning helps in reducing anxieties and facilitate the person to adapt to the new environment successfully. For an individual, starting to work in an organisation is a unique and critically important phase that requires a special perspective and strategy to be successful as a fresher.

A workshop on Campus to Corporate was conducted for the Participants of SNSB Greater Noida Campus on March 10, 2017. 96 participants are completing their academic terms and moving to join the internship at Syndicate Bank branches. A person moving out from a campus and entering corporate needs to do a lot of planning. Mr. Sriharsha Bhat conducted the workshop along with Prof. K Srinath, Dean, SNSB.

Mr. Sriharsha Bhat explained the 5 C’s model for a successful stint in the corporate world: - Company, Colleagues, Customers, Competition and Communication. Additionally, aspects like Corporate Etiquettes, Personal Grooming and Minding Manners were also discussed in the workshop. Some of the techniques to build a healthy relation with seniors and colleagues were also discussed. Participants were given some tips to manage the transition. Mr. Bhat also emphasised the importance of ‘continuous learning’ and being a life-long student.

Prof. K Srinath spoke about maintaining discipline in the bank and emphasised the importance of maintaining confidentiality and fidelity. The workshop ended with the participants being briefed about the internship process and about the evaluation process. Participants were also explained about the mentoring process that is to be followed during the internship period. Each participant has been allotted an academic advisor who will mentor each of them during the internship duration.
