School Health Program on “Menstrual Hygiene” - NUINS

School Health Program on “Menstrual Hygiene” was conducted by the Dept. of OBG Nursing as an extension activity for the 7th standard girl students of Government Higher Primary School, Balepuni, Hoohakuvakallu on 3rd March, 2018. A preliminary test on the subject was conducted on 31 students and the knowledge score was found to be 32%. A video based teaching on menstrual hygiene was conducted by Prof. Sabitha Nayak, followed by a teaching on the female reproductive system using a reproductive system model by Mrs. Timi Thomas, Asst Professor. An interactive session on menstrual hygiene was conducted by the team comprising of Mrs. Sabitha Nayak, Mrs. Sunanda and Mrs. Dyslyn, faculty, Nitte Usha Institute of Nursing Sciences. After the session a post-test was conducted and the knowledge score was 93%. Total beneficiaries were 31 students and 1 teacher.
