KSHEMA Health Cards were distributed to journalists by the DK District Working Journalists’ Association and Press Club with the co-operation of Justice K S Hegde Hospital, at a function held at the Press Club on February 12, Tuesday. N Vinay Hegde, Chairman of Nitte Education Trust and Chancellor of Nitte (Deemed-to-be-University) symbolically distributed the health cards to journalists.
Speaking on the occasion, Vinay Hegde said journalists are an important part of the society and protection of their health is also of paramount importance. He said his hospital was committed to provide good healthcare facilities for journalists.
Hemanth, Public Relations Officer of the Hospital, explained the facilities entitled to the health card holders. He said health cards were being distributed to 97 journalists in the first phase. Over two hundred journalists will be getting the Health Card.
Srinivas Nayak Indaje, President of DK Working Journalists Union presided over the function. Patrika Bhavan President Anand Shetty, Press Club President Annu Mangaluru, Journalists Association General Secretary Ibrahim Adkasthala and others were present.
