A pediatric dental screening camp was organized by the Department of Child Health Nursing, Nitte Usha Institute of Nursing Sciences in collaboration with A B Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences at the Government Higher Primary School, Belma Dota, Renjadi on 12th February 2019. The camp was organized under the leadership of Prof. Sujatha R, HoD, Dept. of Child Health Nursing with the support of Mrs. Harsha Thomas, Asst. Professor and Ms. Samseena D M, Asst. Lecturer, NUINS.
Ms. Renisha and Ms. Josvina Mural from III B. Sc (Nursing) delivered a health talk on dental hygiene and mouth care. The PG students of ABSMIDS screened and attended to dental problems of the school children. 55 children were offered treatment for minor dental problems and 6 were referred to ABSMIDS for further treatment. The health talk on dental hygiene created a strong and positive awareness on the importance of dental care among the school children.
