All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) in collaboration with the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) conducts the AICTE – CII Survey of Industry Linked Technical Institutes to map the collaboration of technical institutes with industry.
The 2019 Survey was conducted in two stages; Short Survey and Full Survey. For the Short Survey, all 9,832 technical institutes which are required to take annual approval from AICTE for the continuation of courses, etc., were required to provide basic data on industry linkages. Based on data submitted in the Short Survey, 3,842 institutes were invited to complete the Full Survey. A total of 714 institutes participated.
Participating institutes were examined from an industry and output perspective on six parameters - curriculum, faculty, infrastructure, research and services/project and skill development, placements, and governance. Nitte Institute of Architecture (NIA), Mangalore, with a Gold rating is positioned amongst the top four architecture colleges in India and is the only architecture college recognized in the southwestern zone.
This recognition and citation in the survey provides NIA national-level recognition, and opportunity for partnerships with industry and other universities, both nationally and internationally.
