The Medical Education Unit, Dept of Anaesthesiology and NUMEDSiM - K S Hegde Medical Academy conducted a three-day Pre internship Orientation Program at K S Hegde Medical Academy from 6th to 8th February, 2020.
The program was inaugurated by Dr Satheesh Kumar Bhandary, Vice Chancellor of Nitte (Deemed to be University). Dr P S Prakash, Dean, K S Hegde Medical Academy, Dr Amrith Mirajkar, Vice Dean (Academics), Dr MS Hiremath, Medical Superintendent, Dr Sumalatha Shetty, I/C Head, Dept of Anaesthesiology and Dr Kishan Prasad HL, Coordinator of the Medical Education Unit were present.
Dr Sripad, Head, Dept. of Anaesthesiology and Dr Gayathri Bhat, Professor of Anaesthesiology who is also in charge of the Skill Lab coordinated the program. A total of 115 interns were trained for AHA Certified Basic Life Support and skill lab-based learning modules. Guest Lectures on roles and responsibilities of an intern, antibiotic policy, documentation and medico-legal cases were also arranged. The programs received excellent feedback from participants.
