Dr. Praveen Kumar Shetty welcomed the gathering; Dr Tarun Sekhri, Sc ‘H’, Director, INMAS-DRDO, Delhi inaugurated the ceremony and spoke on the current and future perspectives of Biodosimetry; Dr. Satheesh Kumar Bhandary, Vice Chancellor, Nitte DU spoke on the need for Biodosimetry, its importance and the milestones for AERB accreditation. Dr. Suchetha Kumari N, proposed the vote of thanks. Many eminent speakers from all over India, delivered lectures during the workshop covering major knowledge gaps in the field of Radiation Biology.
The workshop provided a platform for researchers, students and academicians to interact and come up with effective research plans to handle the radiation triage during an emergency. Participants from Dakshina Kannada and neighbouring districts, 400 in number, took part in the workshop.
