NMAM Institute of Technology, Nitte has been awarded “E-LEAD: E-Learning Excellence for Academic Digitization” by QS I-GAUGE on 1st June 2020. This is in recognition of the institute’s technological advancements in conducting online learning activities during COVID-19 pandemic. QS I-GAUGE, the Indian arm of global rankings and ratings agency ‘QS’, certified NMAMIT as a globally recognised and benchmarked higher education institution to offer online education after a detailed audit.
NMAM Institute of Technology, Nitte is one among the 18 institutions in the country who have received this prestigious certification during the second phase announcements. The certificate was awarded in an online event held on 1st June 2020. The former Additional Secretary of UGC, New Delhi Dr. Renu Batra and Chairman & MD of Bharat Biotech Intl Limited Dr. Krishna Ella, participated in this event.
“NMAMIT is really honoured to receive the E-LEAD certificate from QS I-GAUGE, as a testimony of its continued efforts in the effective roll-out of digital interventions in teaching-learning-evaluation process and all other online support systems. In the post COVID situation, we feel that flipped classrooms will gain more importance and the institutes must embrace digital technology which is transparent, user-friendly and cost-effective. Well-proven open source MOODLE LMS is being used very effectively at NMAMIT for the last 2 to 3 years in academically engaging the students” said the Principal, Dr. Niranjan N Chiplunkar.
QS I-GAUGE launched the E-LEAD programme in the backdrop of current developments in the past six months. It deployed its global resources to create a global best practices document and methodology, with an aim to do a readiness check of institutions in India in adopting technology and technology-enabled services for online teaching.
