News from NUCSER | NUCSER pledges support for the Kamadhenu Deepavali Campaign

Seeking support from the citizens, the Government of India has launched a Kamdhenu Deepavali Abhiyan, promoting extensive use of cow-dung/ Panchgavya products this Deepavali festival. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Rashtriya Kamdhenu Aayog (RKA) has started a nation-wide campaign to celebrate ‘Kamdhenu Deepavali Abhiyan’ this year on the occasion of Deepavali. 

The Aayog, which is under the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying, has started a campaign to encourage the use of cow-dung based products during festivals. While the scientific benefits of cow-dung usage on reducing radiation have been promoted by the RKA, other economic benefits of making the Gaushala Atma nirbhar, shall also boost the ‘Make in India’ concept of the Prime Minister. The Aayog has been interacting with various stakeholders through a series of webinars to focus and promote the use of cow-dung in manufacture of items. 

The students of NUCSER attended a do-it-yourself webinar on 7th November 2020, jointly organized by the Women and Youth Empowerment, through Gomaya Products and the NSS State Cell, Govt of Karnataka. Inspired by the workshop, the NSS Cell, NUCSER carried forward the concept of Kamadhenu Deepavali to spread the message of environment-friendly materials this Diwali through this
