International Volunteers Day

The Youth Red Cross Unit  (YRC) of Nitte (Deemed to be University) in association with the Indian Red Cross Society, DK District Branch observed the International Volunteers Day on 5th December 2020 at the Tannirbhavi Beach premises. The beach cleaning drive was inaugurated by the chief guest, CA Shantaram Shetty, Chairman, IRCS, DK District. The chief guest in his address lauded the efforts of the YRC unit and urged the young volunteers to develop a passion for voluntary service to society. 51 YRC volunteers and 2 staff members from Nitte DU along with Social Emergency Response Volunteer (SERV) trainers from the IRCS completed the drive.

Ms. Latha S, Coordinator, YRC, Nitte DU, welcomed the gathering and coordinated the program under the guidance of Mr. Sacheth Suvarna, YRC Coordinator of the DK District Branch. Sri. Raveendra, MC member, IRCS DK District, Dr Tapaswi, YRC program Officer from Nitte Institute of Communication, Mr. Ashwin, SERV Trainer were present on this occasion. Ms. Carolyne, YRC student Chairman from Nitte Usha Institute of Nursing Sciences, anchored the program. Mr. Sukesh, Asst. Professor and Program Officer of YRC unit, Nitte Usha Institute of Nursing Sciences proposed the vote of thanks.
