News from NUINS | Breast Cancer Awareness program

The Obstetrics & Gynecological Nursing Department, NUINS organized an outreach program on ‘Breast Cancer Awareness’ at Balakrishna Mandira Mahila Samithi, Kumpala on 3rd December 2020. The program began with the welcome address and lighting the lamp.

Ms. Sunanda, Head, Nursing Foundation Department was the resource person. She emphasized on early identification of warning signs, risk factors and management of breast cancer. The session was informative and total of 15 participants attended this program. Ms. Sunanda along with Dr. Sabitha Nayak, Prof. Shynee Paul and Ms. Timi Thomas made the session highly engaging and interactive, by answering the queries to the satisfaction of the participants. Social distancing norms were diligently followed and the program concluded with the vote of thanks.

The program was effective on the basis of statistical analysis. Pre-test and post-test were administered before and after the program. The pre-test score was 60% and post-test score was 90%. Participants clarified their doubts with lot of enthusiasm.
