News from NIPT | International Literacy Day

International Literacy Day was celebrated on 8th September 2021 at the Institute premises. The Chief Guest for the event, Dr Pavan Kumar, Asst. Professor, Dept. of Community Medicine, KSHEMA shared his views on how the pandemic has disrupted the literacy level of individuals. The use of digital applications during the pandemic has magnified the pre-existing inequalities in accessing learning opportunities and there is an urgent need to find a human-centered solution and narrow this digital divide, he said.

Prof (Dr) Dhanesh Kumar K U, Principal, NIPT welcomed the gathering. Ms Shellette D’Almeida, Asst Professor and Coordinator of the event proposed the vote of thanks. The program was compered by Ms Anugraha Ann Clements, III BPT.

A debate competition was also held on the theme ‘Literacy for a human-centered recovery: Narrowing the digital divide' as a part of the celebration. First place was won by students of II MPT and second place by students of IV BPT.
