News from NUINS | Innovative Teaching Methods for Community Education

The Student Innovation Club (SIC) and Dept. of Community Health Nursing, Nitte Usha Institute of Nursing Sciences, organized a ‘Pre-Incubation Camp on Innovative Teaching Methods for Community Education’ on 27th April 2022 at NUINS Learning Centre.

Dr. G. Srinikethan, President, Institution Innovation Council, Nitte DU was the Chief Guest. He emphasized the need for incorporating creative art in the teaching delivery process. Mr Naveen Pilar, Coordinator Art & Culture, Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management, Mangalore was the resource person. Prof. Dr. Fatima D`silva, Principal, NUINS presided over the function and appreciated Mr. Pilar`s advice of adopting innovative ideas in making community education meaningful. Designing innovative puppets and conducting socio-drama on HIV/AIDS using different background musical instruments were the two sessions mentored by the resource person. 100 students and 3 faculty members benefited from this program.

Prof. Dr. Jacintha Veigas, Programme Coordinator and the Coordinator of SIC, NUINS welcomed the gathering and introduced the resource person. Dr. Neetha Kamath, HoD, Community Health Nursing, NUINS proposed the vote of thanks.
