News from ABSMIDS | National Oral Medicine & Radiology Day

The Department of Oral Medicine & Radiology, AB Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences, Nitte DU in association with the Indian Academy of Oral Medicine & Radiology organized a street play to create public awareness about the speciality, on April 23rd 2022 at the Glass House to celebrate National Oral Medicine & Radiology Day.

The program started with a prayer. Prof Dr. U.S. Krishna Nayak, Principal & Dean, ABSMIDS welcomed the gathering. Prof Dr. Vidya Ajila spoke about the importance of the specialty in diagnosing and managing oral diseases. The undergraduate students performed a street play highlighting the importance of Oral Medicine & Radiology (OMR) and its role in diagnosing and managing various oral diseases. The need to visit the oral physician on regular basis for early diagnosis of the disease and to prevent complications was well depicted as also the various services offered by OMR.

Dr Renita Castelino, Co-ordinator of the program proposed the vote of thanks and Dr Shama compered the event. The play was witnessed by students, patients and the public.
