A total of 14 rural volunteers were trained in first aid & emergency skills - hand hygiene, vital signs, wound dressing, bandaging & restraining, cardio pulmonary resuscitation, management of poisonous bite, hemorrhage control, trauma care - cervical spine stabilization, shifting & transfer, management of foreign body aspiration, management of burns and convulsion.
Shri. Jeethendra Shetty, President, Soorinje Panchayath was the Chief Guest and Shri. Uttam Bonsade, PDO was the Guest of Honour. Dr. Srinikethan, Director, Technical Research & Innovation, Nitte DU expressed that the trainees should make use of the skills taught in the training, during emergencies and save the life of the rural people. The trainees Mrs. Padma and Mr. Dawood, expressed their opinion about the program. The Apathbandhu kit and certificates were distributed to all the volunteers by Dr. Srinikethan, and Shri Jeethendra Shetty. Dr. Neetha Kamath of NUINS, welcomed the guests and briefed about the program. Dr. Sabitha Nayak, Vice-Principal proposed the vote of thanks. The program was compered by Ms. Akshatha.
