News from ABSMIDS | Skill development Refresher Program on Individually Trained Oral Prophylaxis

The Department of Periodontics, A B Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences in association with CURADEN, organized a skill development Refresher Program on Individually Trained Oral Prophylaxis on 7th September 2022. The program aimed to educate the participants to achieve good oral hygiene practice and how to transfer that knowledge to patients. 

Prof. Dr. Nina Shenoy, coordinator of the program introduced the guest speaker, Dr Kishore Hadal to the audience. The inauguration ceremony was followed by a lecture and hands-on program on Individually Trained Oral Prophylaxis by Dr. Kishore Hadal. The program covered an array of topics that included introduction to oral hygiene measures and proper techniques. 

Prof. Dr. Amitha Ramesh, Head, Dept. of Periodontics spoke about the importance of adopting and following the accurate method of oral hygiene practices. This was followed by an encouraging speech by the Vice Dean, Prof Dr. Mithra N Hegde, who welcomed the gathering and motivated the audience with her words of wisdom. 12 participants who enrolled for the hands-on programme were provided with curaden oral prophylaxis kit. The Program was well received and appreciated by the participants. Dr. Amita Rao proposed the vote of thanks.
