News from NUCSER | NUCSER welcomes UG freshers

NUCSER conducted the orientation program for the UG students of 2022-23 on 1st September 2022 in the University Auditorium, Paneer campus in the presence of the university officials. Prof. Dr. M S Moodithaya, Pro-Vice Chancellor of the university was the chief guest of the function and Col B S Ghivari (Retd) Asst.Director (Student Affairs) Nitte (DU) was the guest of honour. Director of NUCSER, Prof. Dr. Anirban Chakraborty extended a warm welcome to the students, parents and other dignitaries and emphasised on how NUCSER is different from other institutes and what are the professional benefits the students will be able to get from this institute. Prof Moodithaya, spoke on competency building and explained the different levels of competency to the students. He also spoke about the changing the landscape of higher education in the country and how Nitte has been adapting to these changes. Col B S Ghivari, in his speech, extended his support to the students in making their stay on campus comfortable. The formal function was concluded with words of gratitude from Prof. Dr. Smitha Hegde, Dy. Director and in-charge Student Welfare Committee, NUCSER. Mrs Neetha Shetty, Office Superintendent, compered the formal function. 

Post the formal function, the institute specific orientation program was conducted in the Seminar Hall of NUCSER where the Director familiarized the students and parents about the faculty members, the various academic programs and institutional regulations. Dr. Juliet Mohanraj and Dr. Ramya Harsha, faculty of NUCSER briefed the gathering on the attendance monitoring system, anti-substance abuse and anti-ragging policy of Nitte DU. As a part of the program, document verifications, collection of student details, travel requirements and submission of documents were carried out meticulously by the teaching and non-teaching staff of the institute. The program was attended by 55 students, 85 parents and 30 teaching and non-teaching faculty members.
