News from ABSMIDS | Oral screening and treatment camp

The Dept. of Paediatric & Preventive Dentistry conducted an oral screening and treatment camp on 2nd March 2023 at GHS Nalyapadavu, Shaktinagar, Mangaluru.

A paediatric dental team, led by Prof. (Dr) Manju R, HoD and Dr. Ananthu, Lecturer along with the II year postgraduates and interns visited the school. The program started with an oral health awareness talk delivered by the postgraduates, which focussed on the importance of maintaining good oral hygiene and the techniques to achieve the same. This was followed by an oral check-up for the students of the high school classes. Around 40 students were screened and preventive treatment including oral prophylaxis, pit & fissure sealant application, fluoride application and restorations was completed for 20 students. Consent forms were given to those students who required radiographic examination and invasive procedures to be performed under local anaesthesia in the college.
