A health education program on sexual health for antenatal and postnatal mothers was held on 17th February 2023 at the Epidemiological Unit of K S Hegde Hospital. The resource person Dr. Stephie, spoke about women's reproductive health, proper spacing between children, proper safety measures, menstrual health, family planning, breastfeeding and hygiene practices. All this was done in the form of storytelling in the local language.
Mothers were counselled on the importance of safe delivery practices. They were introduced to the concept of using Copper-T. Many of the women were well aware of the use of condoms and OCP’s. They were also introduced to the concept of menstrual cups. A YouTube tutorial video was shown to them on how to use menstrual cups. Many participants were keen on knowing more about the product.
