Nitte Usha Institute of Nursing Sciences organized a program, Young Intern’s Reflections (YIR) to present a report on the internship experience at Justice KS Hegde Charitable Hospital on 17th March 2023 at the University Auditorium, Paneer Campus. The program began with a prayer song by the interns. Ms. Meghana P W, Intern welcomed the gathering. Prof (Dr) Vikram Shetty, HoD, Orthopedics was the Chief Guest.
Interns Ms. Biyona & Ms. Jebitha James presented a detailed report using PowerPoint. They acknowledged the support of the Management & Hospital authorities for providing them a wonderful internship experience. They thanked the Principal, Clinical Coordinator and all the nursing & medical fraternity for guiding them. They acknowledged the benefits derived from participation in various medical camps and volunteering at NABH training for nursing staff. They critically analyzed the newly initiated Peer Mentoring Program in terms of its benefits, challenges and gave suggestions to improve the system. The Clinical Coordinator appreciated the interns for being regular & responsible in the ward and their contribution to quality patient care.
The Chief Guest elaborated on the need for consistent hard work in order to achieve the goals & aspirations. The Principal appreciated the responsible behavior of the interns and along with the Chief Guest felicitated 20 interns who had 100% attendance by awarding them a memento & a certificate. The Alumni Association of NUINS took the unique initiative to motivate the young interns by sponsoring awards for those who had full attendance during an internship.
Ms. Liniya Thomas, Intern proposed the vote of thanks. 97 students & 3 faculty members attended the program.
