News from ABSMIDS | Street Play to create awareness about the harmful effects of tobacco

The Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology and Oral Microbiology in association with the District Tobacco Control Cell conducted a Street Play to create awareness about the harmful effects of tobacco among the general public on the occasion of ‘World No Tobacco Day’ on 31st May 2023 at KSRTC Bus Stand, Mangalore.

Dr. Shivasharan Shetty, DCI Member, Senate Member of RGUHS, Member of KSDC, Vice President, Indian Dental Association, was the Chief Guest and Dr. Jagadeesh K, District Surveillance Officer & Program Officer, District Tobacco Control Cell (DK.) was the Guest of honor. After the inaugural program, the college President Mr. Sreesha briefed the public about the significance of the day. Prof. (Dr.) Sreelatha S.V, HoD, Oral Pathology delivered the welcome address followed by the address by the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour. Principal and Dean Prof. (Dr.) U.S. Krishna Nayak presided over the function. The main attraction of the event was the street play by students of III BDS. Dr. Preethesh Shetty was the program coordinator.
