News from NUCSER | Orientation program for newly inducted PG students

Nitte (Deemed to be University) organised a common orientation program for the students admitted to the postgraduate programs namely MSc Biomedical Science, MSc Food Safety & Biotechnology, MSc Microbiology, MSc Biotechnology, MSc Marine Biotechnology, at NUCSER, MPharm at NGSMIPS and BA Media and Communication at NICO on 16th August 2023 at Avishkar Hall, ABSMIDS

Prof. Dr MS Moodithaya, Vice Chancellor, Nitte (DU), who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest spoke about the concept of Intellectual Economy and how it is relevant in today’s world; emphasized the importance of honing scientific skills, effective communication with peers, and utilizing available resources to confront both scientific and social challenges. His insightful talk resonated with the students, motivating them to strive for excellence and to contribute meaningfully to the academic and research community.

Dr Prasad B Shetty, Controller of Examinations and the Guest of Honour for the day, shared his words of advice, highlighting the need for honesty and integrity among the students. He also touched upon the significance of making academic choices that align with their aspirations and goals, and also guided the students on how to extract maximum value from their academic experience.

The students and their parents were welcomed by Prof. Dr Smitha Hegde of NUCSER . After the formal inauguration, Prof. Dr. Anirban Chakraborty familiarized the newly joined students of NUCSER and their parents about the faculty members, the various academic programs offered and institutional regulations.

Dr. Ramya Harsha, Dr. Juliet Mohanraj and Dr Akhila DS, faculty of NUCSER, briefed the gathering on the anti-ragging policy, attendance monitoring system, activities of the Placement and Career Guidance Cell. Ms. Varsha Shetty, PhD Scholar shared the details of the Alumni Association (Adhyetha) activities.
