Prof. (Dr) Smitha Hegde, Dy. Director, NUCSER welcomed the gathering and introduced the chief guest, Prof. Dr. Fathima D'silva, Principal, NUINS. Dr. Praveen Rai, In-charge, Student Welfare Committee introduced the newly elected Student Council Members. Dr. Fathima D'silva administered the oath to the Student Council Members and honored them with badges.
In his presidential address, Prof. (Dr) Anirban Chakraborty, Director, NUCSER highlighted the Student Council's duties and reminded the Council members of their responsibilities. He acknowledged the support of the university in conducting these programs. On this occasion, the efforts of the office bearers of the previous year's Student Council were acknowledged and they were felicitated with Certificates of Appreciation. The program ended with the vote of thanks from the Student Council President, Ms. Danica Pereira.
Following the formal program, the Freshers’ Day was conducted to welcome the new entrants. The new students enthralled the audience with splendid performances. The cultural evening also included performances by the senior students. As a part of the program, a competition-themed Met Gala was organized for the freshers and Mr. and Ms. Fresher were chosen. The best dressed freshers (male and female) were Mr. Benhur Jerome Veigas and Ms. Minha Latheef of I BSc Biomedical Science while Mr. Yaman Chaudhry, I MSc Marine Biotechnology and Ms. Prashastha K, I MSc Microbiology were adjudged the best dressed male and female PG students.
All the winners were presented with a sash and gifts.
