The NSS Unit and the Department of Hospital Administration & Health Systems Management of KSHEMA, in collaboration with the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), organized a workshop on "Disaster Response and Rescue" on 21st August 2024 at Chinthana Hall, Justice K S Hegde Charitable Hospital. The workshop was inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Jayaprakash Shetty, Dean (I/C), KSHEMA.
Mr. Vijay Kumar, District Disaster Management Officer of DK, delivered a talk covering various aspects of disaster management, such as types of disasters, vulnerable area identification, disaster management strategies, government initiatives and helplines. The NDRF team, led by Inspector & Team Commander Mr. Shanthilal Jatia, conducted a live demonstration of rescue techniques in disaster situations.
Postgraduate students of KSHEMA actively participated in the event.
