News from NMAMIT | Annual Convocation of Nitte University at Nitte Off Campus Center

Nitte (Deemed to be University) hosted its Fourteenth Annual Convocation for its Nitte Off-campus Center graduates on 31st August 2024 at Sadananda Auditorium, Nitte.

Mr. Umesh Govind Revankar, Executive Vice Chairman, Shriram Finance Company Ltd. was the Chief Guest of the Ceremony. Addressing the gathering, he stressed that the transformative power of education enhances knowledge, skills and personal development. ‘Things may not always go as we expect. If our plans don’t work out, we must persevere. Education is the foundation of every society and paves the way for a better tomorrow’ he added.

Dr. M Shantharam Shetty, Pro-Chancellor (PG Studies & Hospital Admn) highlighted the importance of quality education and good conduct, stating that these are the primary responsibilities of educational institutions. ‘We must never forget that our parents, teachers, school and our homeland are responsible for our success’. Shri N. Vinaya Hegde, Chancellor, Nitte University, expressed his gratitude to all those who contributed to the growth of the institution. ‘Nitte University has over 14000 students studying across campuses in Nitte, Mangalore and Bengaluru. The institution has earned a remarkable reputation nationally and internationally. I believe that the inspiration for the birth and growth of the Nitte group of institutions came from my mother, Smt. Meenakshi Hegde’, he said.

Vice-Chancellor Dr. M. S. Moodithaya delivered the welcome address, stating that the university is committed to providing world-class education to students, fostering innovation & research and making meaningful contributions to society.

A total of 311 students were awarded degrees, including 29 Master of Technology, 120 Master of Computer Applications, and 162 Master of Business Administration degrees. Student Shraddha Upadhyaya offered the invocation. Dr. Sudheer Raj and Dr. Harshitha Jathana compered the program. Gold Medal Awardees

Three students were awarded gold medals for their outstanding academic performance. Monteiro Pamela Stacey Edward (MTech), Vinayaka Kamath (MCA) and Neha Y Devadiga (MBA) were recognized for securing the first rank in their respective programs.

Merit Certificate Awardees
Students who secured the highest and second-highest marks in their respective postgraduate programs were honoured with Merit Certificates for their exceptional academic performance. The awardees included Mahesh R Devadiga, Deepak, Deviprasad Shetty, Sujith Raj, Mangalam Varsha, Manjusha Rao P, Alvistor Parveen D Silva, Aqtara Parveez, Chaithra K S, Dinu Joy and Tanaaz Fayaz Ali.
