News from ABSMIDS | Nitte Conference on Childhood Communication Disorders - Ni-CCoD

The 2-day Nitte Conference on Childhood Communication Disorders (Ni-CCoD) organized by Nitte Institute of Speech and Hearing on 27th & 28th September 2024 at Avishkar Auditorium, ABSMIDS was inaugurated by Prof. (Dr.) M Shantharam Shetty, Pro-Chancellor, Nitte University in the presence of Dr. Harsha Halahalli, Registrar, Nitte DU; Dr. Jensy Blesson, CEO & Co-Founder, Jewel Autism & Child Development Centre, Kottayam; Prof. T Dattatreya, Professor Emeritus, NISH, Mrs. Shwetha, Principal & Organizing Chairperson and Mr. Jim Saroj Winston, Organizing Secretary.

A panel discussion on “Infant Screening for Communication Disorders: An Interdisciplinary Perspective” was conducted as part of the conference on 27th September 2024. Scientific sessions involving 17 oral presentations and 26 poster presentations were held during the conference.

Prof. T. Dattatreya was honored on this occasion in recognition of his remarkable and substantial contributions to the field of Speech and Hearing over the past 50 years. The cultural night on 27th September saw students performing a variety of acts, including traditional dances, musical performances, showcasing their diverse talents and creativity. The program was attended by a total of 348 participants, including professionals, research students, undergraduates, postgraduates and faculty members.
