NGSM Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences in association with the National Service Scheme (NSS) and Youth Red Cross (YRC), inaugurated Daan Utsav, a week-long celebration of giving, on 18th September 2024. The event aimed to instill the values of generosity and social responsibility among students and faculty members.
Dr. R Narayana Charyulu, Vice Principal, NGSMIPS welcomed the gathering. He emphasized community engagement and the spirit of giving. Dr. Amitha Shetty, in charge of the Daan Fest, spoke on the significance of Daan Utsav, encouraging students to help those in need. The event was inaugurated by Chief Guest Prof. (Dr) Suma Ballal, Dy. Registrar, who inspired students to embrace philanthropy. Prof. (Dr) CS Shastry, Principal, highlighted the importance of empathy in his presidential address. Dr. Santanu Saha concluded with the vote of thanks. Ms. Shailashree served as the Master of Ceremony and the event was coordinated by Dr. Ashwini M, NSS Officer, NGSMIPS.
The event marked the start of a week of charitable activities, including donations and a blood donation camp.
