The Student Nurses Association of Nitte Usha Institute of Nursing Sciences organized a Lamp lighting program for the I year BSc Nursing and GNM students on 28th September 2024 at KS Hegde Auditorium, Deralakatte. The program started with an invocation followed by a skit on Modern Concepts of Nursing presented by the II BSc Nursing students. Dr. Suchithra BS, Coordinator, I BSc welcomed the gathering.
Inaugurating the event, Chief guest Dr. Judith Angelitta Noronha, Dean, Manipal College of Nursing explained the importance of dedication, empathy and compassion in nursing. She emphasized the responsibility of a nursing student in bedside care. All the students were given the lamp by the dignitaries along with the departmental heads.
Ms. Cleeta Pinto, Principal, School of Nursing administered the Nightingale Pledge to the students. The program was presided over by Prof. (Dr) Fatima Dsilva, Principal, NUINS. She advised the students on the importance of commitment towards the profession, organization, self and dedication towards parents.
The program ended with the vote of thanks delivered by SNA Vice President Mr. Dewas Kararia. The program was compered by Ms. Aswathy, GNM Coordinator. A total of 103 BSc Nursing, 90 GNM students & 17 teaching faculty attended the program.
