The Department of Community Health Nursing along with the Alumni Association of NUINS organized a Walkathon from Justice KS Hegde Charitable Hospital to Deralakatte Junction on 29th November 2024 in observance of World AIDS Day. Thereafter, a health awareness program for students and teachers was organized at Nethaji Subhash Chandra Bose Government High School, Derlakatte.
Dr. Neetha Kamath, HoD, Community Health Nursing, gave a talk on the theme & importance of the observation of AIDS Day. The 7th-semester students organized a role play on the causes, spread of HIV and preventive measures. Mr. Naveen, IV BSc, explained in detail about HIV/AIDS, its causes, transmission, symptoms, prevention and management. A total of 135 students from Class 8 to 10 attended this program.
