The Gender Sensitization Cell (NMAMIT) in collaboration with VISTA, the Student Association of the Dept of Information Science & Engineering, hosted an insightful session titled ‘Gender Equity - The Path Towards Gender Equality’ on 4th February 2025.
Chief guest Prof. (Dr) Suma Ballal, Dy. Registrar of Nitte University emphasized the crucial distinction between gender equity and gender equality, shedding light on how equitable measures pave the way toward achieving true gender balance.
Dr. Karuna Pandit, Chairperson, Gender Sensitization Cell welcomed the gathering and highlighted the significance of addressing gender disparities and fostering inclusivity within academic institutions and beyond.
Dr. Preethi Salian, Asst. Professor, ISE and VISTA Coordinator introduced the Chief guest. Ms. Anusha Anchan, Asst. Professor, CSE and Gender Sensitization Cell member, was the master of ceremony. Mr. Avin Vinod Mendonca, member of the Gender Sensitization Cell delivered the vote of thanks. 250 students participated in the event.
