The Nursing Education Unit of Nitte Usha Institute of Nursing Sciences, organized a two-day national level EDP on “Transforming Learning: Innovative Pedagogies for the Future of Higher Education” on 6th & 7th March 2025 at Avishkar, ABSMIDS. The key areas such as effective teaching-learning outcomes through research-based approaches, paradigms in education & bench markers of quality education, integration of innovative pedagogies in teaching, learning & evaluation, small and large group methods of teaching, workplace assessment, scenario development & simulation in education, e-logbook, and portfolio were discussed. Deliberations were held on innovative methods such as reflective practice, self-directed learning and flipped classroom.
Prof. (Dr) Jacintha Veigas, Organizing Secretary welcomed the gathering. Chief guest, Prof. (Dr) G. Sriniketan, Director (Technical Research), NET appreciated the selection of the need-based theme for the workshop. Prof. (Dr} Nagesh Prabhu, Director, Curriculum Development, emphasized the importance of learning in education.

A competition for faculty on preparing an action plan on “A pathfinder for educational excellence” was held. Nine groups took part in the competition. Ms. Priya & Ms. Ann Barnes from Kanachur Nursing College bagged the 1st prize and Dr. Suchithra & Mr. Sudhakar from NUINS secured the 2nd place. In the e-poster competition on “Conducive atmosphere for learning” four student groups took part. Ms. Lahari & Mr. Prasad from MPH, Nitte DU bagged the prize. Mr. Basavaraj, Joint Organizing Secretary, proposed the vote of thanks. Mrs. Vicky Priya Fernandes, Committee member, compered the program. A total of 62 delegates from 10 colleges participated in the workshop.
