The Annual Day “SAMANVAY 2026” of Nitte Usha Institute of Nursing Sciences (NUINS) was held on 6th March 2026 at the KS Hegde Auditorium, Deralakatte. Chief Guest, Ms. Evelyn P Kannan, Secretary General of the Trained Nurses’ Association of India, emphasized that it is not the length of life but the way we live it that matters. She encouraged students to recognize their potential and take pride in the nursing profession.
Prof. (Dr) Gopal Mugeraya, Vice President (Technical Education), Nitte DU who presided over the event and highlighted the importance of nursing care and appreciated the Principal for promoting the holistic development of students.
Prof. (Dr) Fatima Dsilva, Principal, NUINS presented the Annual Report of the college. Meritorious students - Ms. Chisale Roselyn Dukru (MSc Nursing), Ms. Khyobeni Murray (PBBSc Nursing) and Ms. Gyurmey Lhamo (BSc Nursing) were honoured during the event. Faculty members who demonstrated excellence in academics, research and extension activities were also appreciated. The institution felicitated two retiring non-teaching staff members, Ms. Dayamani and Ms. Vijayalaxmi, for their dedicated service.
Cultural and sports competitions were conducted from 2nd to 5th March 2026, to promote unity and a healthy competitive spirit, in line with SDG Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being. The program was compered by student Ms. Afreen Wasim, followed by the vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Cleeta Pinto, Principal, School of Nursing.
