The NSS Unit, in collaboration with the Department of Child Health Nursing, Nitte Usha Institute of Nursing Sciences, organized a one-day workshop on “Apathbandhu – First Aid and Emergency Training Program” for Pre-University teachers of St. Agnes PU College on 13th March 2026.
The program was inaugurated by Rev. Fr. Vincent Dsouza, Director, CODP-ISD, and presided over by Prof. Dr. Sabitha Nayak, Vice Principal, NUINS.
The workshop covered essential topics including bandaging techniques, fracture & wound care, first aid in choking, drowning, seizures, bites, electric shock, haemorrhage control and CPR. The training focused on hands-on practice and active participation to enhance emergency response skills. A total of 43 teachers participated from the program.
The program concluded with a valedictory session presided over by Mr. Shashi Kumar Shetty, NSS Coordinator, Nitte University.
