The World Environment Day 2026 was organized by the National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit and Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Cell of Nitte Institute of Professional Education (NIPE) in collaboration with Vana Charitable Trust, Mangaluru, on 5th June 2026 under the theme “Climate Action – #NowForClimate.”
Mr. Adi Bhandary welcomed the gathering and highlighted the significance of World Environment Day. Dr. Asha Vijay T, SDG Coordinator emphasized the importance of environmental sustainability and climate action.
Chief guest, Mr. Jeeth Milan Roche, Forest Friend, Environmentalist & Social Entrepreneur, inaugurated the program and distributed saplings to staff and students. He shared his experiences in environmental conservation and encouraged everyone to actively participate in protecting the environment.
Dr. Jnaneshwar Pai Maroor administered the Environmental Oath, motivating participants to pledge their commitment towards conserving nature and promoting sustainable practices.
The program concluded with the vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Mruthyunjaya.
