The Ni-Eco Club of Nitte Institute of Communication in collaboration with the Institution's Innovation Council observed World Nature Conservation Day on 29th July 2026 by organising "My Promise to Nature," an initiative to encourage faculty members, research scholars & students to adopt sustainable environmental practices.
Dr. Moulya Baladi, HoD and staff of NICO, pledged to adopt sustainable practices by writing their personal environmental commitments on leaf shaped notes which were then displayed on a model tree made of recycled material.
The event also featured an "Adopt a Sapling" initiative where Dr. Anisha, the plant parent, handed over a sapling to Mr. Saurabh, faculty (new plant parent) symbolising the shared responsibility of nurturing nature.
