The Department of Pharmacology, KSHEMA, in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell organized a Good Clinical Practice (GCP) Guideline Workshop as part of the National Pharmacology Day celebrations. The workshop was inaugurated by Chief Guest Dr. U P Rathnakara, Former Dean, Kanachur Institute of Medical Sciences. Prof. (Dr) Sandeep Rai, Dean, KSHEMA presided over the function, with Dr. Sukanya Shetty, Vice Dean (Admn), KSHEMA as Guest of Honour.
Dr. Ashwin K, Coordinator, IQAC welcomed the gathering and Prof. (Dr) Ravichandra V, HoD, Pharmacology, introduced the Chief Guest. The workshop included expert sessions on ICH-GCP R3 Principles by Dr. Ashok Shenoy; IEC responsibilities, Ethical review procedures, Participant safety and SAE reporting as per NDCT-2019 by Dr. Sneha Ullal and the Informed consent process by Dr. Ashok Shenoy.
A total of 114 participants from various institutions in Mangaluru, Kasaragod and surrounding areas attended the workshop. As part of National Pharmacology Day, a Postgraduate Debate Competition was also conducted, with eight teams participating in the preliminary round and four advancing to the finals. KMC, Manipal secured the first prize, while KMC, Mangaluru won the second place.
