“Decoding Sleep: Advances in Sleep Medicine and Respiratory Care”
The Department of Respiratory Technology, Nitte Institute of Allied Health Sciences (NIAHS), in association with the Department of Pulmonary Medicine, KSHEMA, organized a CME-cum-Workshop titled “Decoding Sleep: Advances in Sleep Medicine and Respiratory Care” on 20 August 2026 Dr. Nandakishore Baikunje, Professor & Head, Department of Pulmonary Medicine, KS Hegde Medical Academy, delivered a session on “Sleep Studies in Clinical Practice: Choosing the Right Test for the Right Patient.” Ms. Pooja Karkera, Doctoral Researcher, Program Director, Academy of Advanced Sleep Diagnostics & Therapeutics, spoke on “Redefining OSA in Women: Moving Beyond Male-Centric Diagnostics Towards Gender-Tailored Precision Medicine.” Mr. Prithviraj S J, Behavioral Sleep Specialist & Co-Founder of Sleep Med Solutions Pvt Ltd. conducted a session on “The Blueprint of Sleep: Advanced Polysomnography Procedure and Scoring.” Dr. Chandramouli M T, Assistant Professor, Mr. Azeem M H and Mrs. Mansi Suresh, Ms. Rashmitha conducted the hands-on training in polysomnography. Students from various colleges in and around Mangalore attended the CME.
