Oral hygiene day celebrations, Department of periodontics - ABSMIDS

The Department Of Periodontics in association with the Indian Society of Periodontology organised the oral hygiene day celebrations at Vimshathi Bhavan, A B Shetty Memorial Institute Of Dental Sciences, on August 1st 2017. Oral hygiene day is observed to commemorate the birthday of Dr. G B Shankwalker , the doyen of Periodontics in the country. The programme included 2 guest lectures which were supported by the Indian Society of Periodontology head office and Oral B. The first lecture on ‘Periodontics- Beyond Prophylaxis’ was delivered by Prof.(Dr.) Amitha Ramesh. The second lectures on ‘Modern Day Approaches In Oral Hygiene’ was delivered by Prof.(Dr.) Rahul Bhandary. The celebrations were inaugurated by the Principal and Dean, Prof.(Dr.) U. S. Krishna Nayak. Dr. Biju Thomas , HOD Periodontics delivered the welcome address and Dr. Nina Shenoy, Professor proposed the vote of thanks. Dr. Mithra N Hegde, Vice Principal also spoke on the occasion. All the participants were provided with writing pads , pens, Oral B toothbrushes and certificate of attendance from the ISP head office. The 2 guest speakers were also provided with Oral B power toothbrushes.
