News from NSAMEMHS | District Level Essay Competition

Tejaswi Kamath of Class 10 participated in the District Level Essay Competition organised by the Sushan Trust, Udupi and bagged the Third place winning a cash prize of ₹5,000. Around 80 schools of Udupi and Mangalore took part in this event.

News from NSAMEMHS | Promoting Mental Health and Wellness among students

The Staff Development Centre at Nitte DU organised a Faculty Development Program for the teachers of Dr. N.S.A.M. English Medium High School, Nitte, on 29th May 2026. The workshop focused on promoting mental health and wellness among students.

The resource persons were Dr. Jonathan L, Dr. H. N. Prathibha and Dr. Jithin from the Department of Psychiatry, KSHEMA. They educated the staff on identifying early warning signs of anxiety, depression and mood changes in the classroom. The session highlighted the crucial role played by the teachers as first responders in noticing sudden behavioural changes, ensuring timely psychological support and professional intervention for vulnerable students.

The workshop provided valuable insights on mental health and wellness among students.

Students of Dr. NSAM English Medium High School, Nitte participated in the State-level ASMITA - Khelo India Football League 2025-26 (under 15 girl’s category) held at Nehru Maidan, Mangaluru on 26th April 2026 and emerged as runners-up.

Nearly 8 teams participated in this event.

Congratulations to the budding players for their exemplary performance.

News from NSAMEMHS | ATL (Atal Tinkering Lab) Summer Camp

A three-day ATL (Atal Tinkering Lab) Summer Camp was organised for the students of classes 7 and 8 at Dr. NSAM English Medium High School, Nitte from 6th to 8th April 2026. The camp was inaugurated by Mahammad Sakeer, Manager, Learning Links Foundation.

The sessions provided exposure to ATL equipment and emphasized the importance of presentation skills and programming languages.

Ms. Manupriya, the resource person, conducted the sessions under the guidance of Mrs. Sahana, the school's science teacher.

Nearly 20 students participated in the program, making the most of this valuable learning opportunity.

The Staff Development Centre at Nitte DU organised a Faculty Development Program for the teachers of Dr. NSAM English Medium High School, Nitte on 17th March 2026. The workshop focused on the integration of Social-Emotional Learning (SEL).

The facilitator, Dr. Deepa Kothari, Director, Alva's Centre for Wellness Training, Alva's College, Moodbidri engaged participants through various group activities. The session focused on self-understanding and effective techniques for managing emotions.

The program served as an inspiring tribute to female resilience and concluded with a formal vote of thanks.

News from NSAMEMHS | Annual Awards Day Celebration

To boost the morale of the students, Dr. N Shankara Adyanthaya Memorial English Medium High School held its Awards Day on 8th March 2026 at Sadananda Auditorium, Nitte. The school honoured all its achievers for having attained a sterling record in both scholastic and co-scholastic domains during the academic year 2024-25. The ceremony commenced by invoking God’s blessings followed by a cultural show exhibited by the students.

Chief Guest, Mr. Ankith S Kumar, Counsellor, NMAMIT motivated the awardees and participants to preserve and keep up the good work. He appreciated the efforts of the students and the support extended by the faculty & parents and wished the students continued success.







News from NSAMEMHS | Road Safety Awareness

Dr. NSAM English Medium High School recently organized a Road Safety Awareness Program aimed at educating students on the vital importance of following traffic rules and staying safe on the streets.

The session began with a prayer followed by a good thought and a video featuring road safety rules. A group of students performed an expressive skit that brought real-world road scenarios to life. Teachers shared insights on the theme 'Road Safety - Life Safety', reinforcing that road safety is a collective responsibility.

News from NSAMEMHS | Talk on Adolescence

Dr. NSAM English Medium High School, Nitte organized a talk on 'Adolescence' by Mr. Ankith Kumar, Counsellor, NMAM Institute of Technology, Nitte, for the students of Class 7 & 8 on 21st February 2026.

Mr. Ankith explained that adolescence is a crucial stage of life, marked by significant physical, emotional and psychological changes. He highlighted common challenges faced by teenagers, such as mood swings, peer pressure, stress and confusion. To navigate these hurdles, he gave practical advice such as practicing yoga, building self-confidence and maintaining open communication with parents and teachers. The session was highly informative and interactive. The students participated enthusiastically, asking questions and clarifying their doubts.

We are proud to announce a significant milestone achieved by Dhyan Ramesh Moolya of Class 9. A formal patent application based on Dhyan’s original and innovative concept: A Special and Unique Noodle Maker System has been successfully published. He will now take the next step of applying for the grant. We are excited to support Dhyan in his journey, as he continues to refine his inventions.

Students of Dr. NSAM English Medium School participated in the Oakwood Marathon held at Kundapura on 1st February 2026. Khushi J. Shetty of Class 8 clinched the Gold Medal in 3 km and Varshith Gowda of Class 9 bagged the Bronze in 5 km.

We congratulate our budding athletes for their commendable performance.



News from NSAMEMHS | Farewell

The School bid farewell to the current Class 10 batch on 7th February 2026. Farewell speeches were delivered by the Principal, Ms. Radha Prabhu and  Ms. Manasa. The Head Boy and Head Girl also shared their most memorable experiences. The Class 10 students participated in a ramp walk and various games.

A cultural program was organized by Class 9 for their seniors. The event concluded with a vote of thanks.





News from NSAMEMHS | Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan

Students of Dr. NSAM English Medium High School, Nitte participated in Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan (VVM), India's largest national-level digital science talent exam. VVM is an initiative by Vigyan Bharathi (VIBHA), in collaboration with the NCERT, which aims to popularize science among students from Grades 6 to 11. 

Four of our students are selected to represent the school at the State Level Camp Examination of Karnataka.

As part of their IT project, Class 10 students of Dr. NSAM English Medium High School, Nitte visited UniCourt, an IT firm located in Mangaluru on 16th January 2026. This visit proved to be an exceptional learning experience and provided a practical perspective thatsignificantly enhanced their understanding beyond what is covered in the classroom. Through interactive sessions with staff, students gained insight into how software engineering extends beyond coding, emphasizing real-world problem solving, collaboration and innovation. Seeing a world-class IT firm operating so successfully in the city gave them a much clearer vision of the exciting career options awaiting them in the future.

On 27th January 2026, Dr. NSAM English Medium High School Nitte hosted a one-day teacher training workshop on the Theory of Knowledge at the school premises.

Resource Persons Dr. Shwetha Kamath, School Counsellor at Shree Gujarati English Medium School, Mangalore and Ms. Mallika Hareesh, Head, Dept. of Social Science, Manipal School, Mangalore engaged the educators through thematic sessions and interactive learning activities.

Teachers from 9 schools of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi district along with the faculty of the host school attended the workshop.

News from NSAMEMHS | Sports Day

Dr. NSAM English Medium High School, Nitte conducted the Annual Sports Day at BC Alva Sports Complex, Nitte on 30th December 2025. Raghavendra Naik, a student of Dr. N.S.A.M. First Grade College, Nitte was the Chief Guest.

In his inaugural speech, he inspired the students to actively participate in sports activities and manage both academics and sports in a disciplined manner.
