World Environment Day was observed at Dr. MRSM English Medium High School on 6th of June. Dr. C Vaman Rao, Professor & Head, Department of Biotechnology, NMAM Institute of Technology, Nitte interacted with the students on water and waste management. Students were urged to take up proactive environmental measures. He explained in great detail the importance of practicing 4 R’s (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Recover) of waste segregation before disposal and all possible effects of using unscientific methods of plastic disposal. He encouraged students to employ different cost effective methods of composting thereby reducing contributing to municipal waste and the related issues of dealing with disposal.
Principal, Mrs Shreelatha Rao welcomed and introduced the guest. Mr Chandrakanth, Assistant teacher proposed vote of thanks and Mr. Basil Lobo, anchored the function.
