Team JKSHIM wins AIM - AIMS Conscious Capitalism Simulation Competition 2019 - JKSHIM

The student team from Justice K S Hegde Institute of Management won the third place in the AIM - AIMS Conscious Capitalism Simulation Competition 2019 organised by the Association of Indian Management Schools (AIMS) in collaboration with the Academy of Indian Marketing (AIM) and NJOY Learning Processes Pvt Ltd (representing Innovative Learning Solutions Inc, USA). Team JKSHIM was represented by Mr. Chethan Nayak, Ms. Meghna Suvarna, Ms. Pooja Upadhyay, Mr. Rahul, Ms. Sushma Kudva and Mr. Winston D’Souza, all second-year MBA students. Team JKSHIM won the first prize in the regional level competition held from 2nd to 8th August to 2019. The two teams from 4 regions were invited to the national-level competition held from 27th - 30th August 2019 in New Delhi. The first two prizes were bagged by IIM –Indore and Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies, Pune respectively. Team JKSHIM won third place with a cash prize of Rs. 20,000.

The final round was held in a workshop mode under the supervision of Dr Ernest Cadotte, author of the simulation and Fisher Professor of Innovative Learning at Haslam College of Business, University of Tennessee, USA. The finals had six rounds where the participants had to manage and operate a conscious business, in contrast to the traditional profit-maximizing business paradigm. The business strategy had to be developed taking into consideration the stakeholders, customers, stockholders, employees, suppliers and the community at large keeping in mind ethical, environmental and sustainability issues, in addition to the usual management challenges of running a business.
