The Annual Sports Day ‘SPORTIF JOUR’ of Nitte Usha Institute of Nursing Sciences, Mangaluru was held on 7th February 2020 at Nitte Grounds, Deralakatte Campus.
Ms. Sharanya Mahesh, International Athlete was the Chief Guest. The program began with march-past by the students and the Chief Guest received the Guard of honor after which she hoisted the flag and declared the Athletic Meet open. Ms. Priya Scaria, III B.Sc (N) welcomed the guests, participants and the gathering.
The student representatives lighted the sports flame. This was followed by oath taking led by Ms. Sudhina of III B.Sc (N). The Chief Guest inspired the students by recalling her relentless struggle, backed by her strong determination which brought her glory and fame in the field of sports. She urged the students to actively participate in sports activities and allocate dedicated time for sports alongside academics.
Prof. (Dr.) Sabitha Nayak, Vice Principal addressed the gathering and presented a memento as a token of gratitude to the Chief Guest. Mr. Amon-Wa-I Sumer, Sports Chairperson, III B.Sc (N) proposed the vote of thanks.
