News from NUINS | Investiture Ceremony of the new SNA office bearers and the Teacher’s Day Celebration

The Investiture Ceremony of the new SNA office bearers and the Teacher’s Day Celebration of Nitte Usha Institute of Nursing Sciences was organized by the newly elected members of the SNA, under the leadership and guidance of the Principal & SNA President Dr. Fatima Dsilva and the new SNA advisor, Mrs. Melba Drago on 5th September, 2020. Dr. Smitha Hegde, Professor, Nitte University Centre for Science Education & Research was the Chief Guest. Dr. Smitha, in her address, spoke about the importance of power when students take over new office and how it should be executed with due diligence and responsibility.

Ms. Shalom, the ex-SNA Vice President, in her message to the new SNA Council stressed on the fact that hard work coupled with teamwork always pays dividends, and also thanked the teachers for their selfless and tireless service in shaping the future of the students. 

Mrs. Melba Drago, the new SNA Advisor, welcomed the virtual gathering and led the oath taking ceremony of the new SNA council. Students showcased their talents by creating a short video which was played during the program as a gesture and mark of gratitude to the teachers. Ms. Akshatha recited a song to celebrate & value the presence of teachers in our lives and expressing gratitude to them.

Interesting and brain-teasing games were organized by the students for the teachers. The Principal, Dr. Fatima Dsilva, addressed the gathering and appreciated the hard work of the students for putting up such a wonderful program and encouraged them to collaborate well with each other and work as a team. The program ended with the vote of thanks proposed by the new SNA Vice President Ms. Fathima Wafah.
