The Institutional Placement & Career Guidance Cell in association with the Interns Academic Club of AB Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences organized a professional development program for interns titled - “Career Opportunities in Canada” on 20th February 2023 at Vimshathi Bhavan, ABSMIDS.
Dr Priya Gatti Rao, alumna of the college was the resource person. The Principal & Dean, Prof. (Dr.) US Krishna Nayak presided over the function and shared his views on planning for a career abroad.
Ms Anushree, Intern rendered the invocation prayer. Prof. (Dr). Subhas Babu, Chairperson, Interns Academic Club welcomed the gathering. Dr Gopinath Thilak introduced the resource person and coordinated the event. Prof. (Dr) Darshana Devadiga, Member Secretary, Institutional Placement & Career Guidance Cell delivered the vote of thanks. Ms Divine Prato & Ms Vaishnavi Naik, Interns compered the program.
Dr. Priya Gatti Rao discussed in detail the different avenues & opportunities available in Canada. She outlined the options available in clinical & research areas and gave an in-depth overview of the process involved for preparing & applying for higher studies in Canada. She also mentioned the career options available for the undergraduates.
The program was attended by 40 interns and 10 faculty members.
